Organic Bikes and NuVinci Featured in Fast Company!

“If your bike drove as reliably as your car, would you ride to work?”

That’s the question Fast Company posed when discussing the NuVinci N360 shifting system we’re featuring on our upcoming Edwin town bike. When we first tried the NuVinci shifting system a year back we couldn’t believe how smooth and easy to use it was. It’s a truly revolutionary system, it’s great to see it getting noticed more.  You can read the whole article here.

We’ll have our Edwin city bike with the NuVinci N360 drivetrain set up on a trainer to try out. The NuVinci system gives you an infinitely variable transmission that’s smoother than anything you’ve ridden before. We’ll also have our Caleb road bike on display for everyone to see.

New Edwin Bamboo Town Bike

If you stop by OrganicBikes.com you might notice a few changes. One of them being the introduction of our Edwin bamboo town bike. The NuVinci N360 drivetrain gives you a huge shift range with infinity variable shift points in between. With Bamboo fenders front and rear and the Farmers Market rear rack in the works, this will be the perfect bike for a cruise downtown or a trip out to the farmers market.  Expect to see the Edwin for sale in early 2011.

Organic Bikes at the California Climate Ride

If you plan on going on the California Climate Ride keep an eye out for our latest bike, the Caleb 10 speed road bike. It will be ridden by Mairi Beautyman from TreeHugger.com and PlanetGreen.com.

This is one of the first few Caleb’s we’ve got in to give them a final look before we roll into full production. Expect to see them for sale in the coming months!

Here’s a few shots of the bike before it ships out. For more information on the ride visit ClimateRide.org
